Private Chefs in Fort Lauderdale, FL

A lot of Fort Lauderdale dinners end up near the water. Many homes sit on the canals off the Intracoastal, and a chef can work a grill on the dock as easily as the stove inside. Seafood is the obvious choice: mahi and wahoo from the charter boats out of Hillsboro Inlet, stone crab in season, conch fritters if someone in your group has family in the Bahamas.

The city fills up from January through March, when the snowbirds are back and rentals around Las Olas, Victoria Park and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea are booked for weeks. If your dates fall in that stretch, send your request early. Another common booking is the night before a cruise out of Port Everglades, when a group has a house for one night and nobody wants to hunt for a restaurant table for twelve.

Some of the chefs below live in Fort Lauderdale. Others are based in Miami or Boca Raton and drive up, since their service area covers Broward too.
